About Down to Earth

Sustainability isn't just a buzzword. It's a way of life.

Down to Earth is a collaborative public education campaign designed to be a voice for agricultural stakeholders in Alabama to promote the sustainable, conservation-minded practices farmers and ranchers are already doing.

Our Story

Communications professionals from trade organizations and commodity representatives from across Alabama have been worked together for more than a year developing the Down to Earth campaign. Instead of each of our partners individually developing sustainability campaigns, the organizations decided to come together for a first-of-its-kind project that will tell one story under one brand.

Down to Earth is a yearlong public education campaign designed to inform consumers about the sustainable, conservation-minded practices that Alabama’s farmers, ranchers and forest landowners have been voluntarily implementing for generations. The land is their legacy, so it is their goal to leave it better than they found it. Down to Earth: Agriculture Sustains Alabama is designed to tell that story and be a platform to answer questions regarding sustainability in Alabama’s agricultural and forestry industries.

Founding Partners of the Down to Earth campaign are (alphabetically): Alabama Agribusiness Association, Alabama Association of RC&D Councils, Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Alabama Farmers Federation, Alabama Forestry Commission, Alabama Poultry & Egg Association, Alabama Department of Agricultures & Industries and Sweet Grown Alabama.
